Ivy Tech curriculum details

  • Students must obtain at least a "C" in all Required Sequence courses for the credit to transfer to the IUPUI
  • A maximum of 71 credits can be transferred under this agreement.
  • Upon successful completion of the Required Sequence courses in the associate degree program, students who complete the AS in Respiratory Therapy at ITC must obtain the Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) credential. Admission to the baccalaureate program in Respiratory Therapy on the IUPUI campus cannot be offered until this credential is obtained.

IUPUI curriculum details

  • The following suggested sequence includes all course requirements for this degree.
  • Participation in the agreement will be open to all ITCC students who earn an AS in Respiratory Therapy at any Ivy Tech campus. Students must have completed all prerequisite and professional courses with a grade of at least a “C” and graduate with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.000 (on a 4.000 scale) or greater. Individual AS in Respiratory Therapy Programs within the ITCC system must remain in good standing with the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). Students who complete the AS in Respiratory Therapy at ITCC must obtain the Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) credential. Admission to the baccalaureate program in Respiratory Therapy on the IUPUI campus cannot be offered until this credential is obtained.
  • Semester 8 Note: Students should submit an application for admission by January 10th for admission in the following fall term; those considering entering in January should call the HPP Administrative Office for details. Students finishing the IU School of Medicine Completion Courses in fall and considering January entry to the program should contact the HPP Administrative Office. Additional requirements such as CPR certification, immunizations, proof of health insurance and program-based essential functions will be included with the student’s letter of admission. At the time of application, students may be conditionally admitted if some of the degree completion courses are in progress. An application must be submitted to both the IUPUI campus and the Health Professions Programs Administrative (HPP) Office.   • Students who meet all criteria may be offered admission by the program’s admissions committee on a space available basis and will be required to complete the senior year of the baccalaureate program on the IUPUI campus. These thirty-four (34) credit hours can be entered in either the fall or spring terms; students must successfully complete both semesters to be eligible to be awarded the baccalaureate degree.
  • Additional requirements such as CPR certification, immunizations, proof of health insurance and program-based essential functions will be included with the student’s letter of admission.
  • Students must take the coursework listed in semesters 8 and 9 at a four-year college or university. The courses in semesters 8 and 9 cannot be taken at ITCC.
  • All IU School of Medicine Degree Completion Courses must be completed with a “C” or better and a minimum 3.000 cumulative GPA (on a 4.000 scale).
