The Passport Transfer Guide
Before you apply at IUPUI
- Ivy Tech's Career Development Office works with students just like you to help determine your academic and career goals. Making use of their services is a great way to start thinking about your long-term plans.
Checking if IUPUI has the major you want to study is only one step in preparing for your transfer. In addition to exploring our 355+ academic programs, you should also visit the academic school of the program you are considering to see if there are admission requirements.
Just because a course
transfers, does not mean it is applicable to your IUPUI degree. Passport academic advisors can help you navigate which credits will be transferable and applicable to your IUPUI degree. You can also explore IUPUI's degree maps to determine how your courses may apply.
Your academic advisors at Ivy Tech and in the Passport Office are here to guide you through your academics. Be sure to meet with your advisor from both areas at least once a semester.
You can meet with your Passport Office advisor at either Ivy Tech or IUPUI.
You probably wouldn't buy a car without first taking it on a test drive, so why would you apply to a college without seeing it in person? The Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers numerous visit opportunities throughout the year, including some events specifically for transfer students.
When planning your transfer to IUPUI, it's important to be aware of our priority application deadlines. They are:
- Fall: May 1
- Spring: November 1
- Summer 1: March 15
- Summer 2: May 1

- Log on to your Ivy Tech MyIvy Account
- Click “Student”
- Click “Advising”
- Click “Request Official Transcripts"
- Click “Proceed to Clearinghouse”
- Click “Order or track a transcript"
Did you complete your associate's degree?
IUPUI will automatically waive your $65 application fee if you have completed your associate's degree or completed at least 45 credits at Ivy Tech. If you need help with your application, you can email Undergraduate Admissions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once your final grades have been posted and your degree credentials have been denoted on your Ivy Tech transcript, submit your final transcript to IUPUI.
You will attend Transfer Tuesday, Transitions Orientation, and an Orientation Advising Appointment to complete the transfer process. Registration begins in March for students admitted for the summer and fall terms and in October for students admitted for the spring term. Remember to reserve your spot early to ensure the best orientation date!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is available each year beginning on October 1 and should be completed each academic year. Learn about your options for financial aid and scholarships as you prepare for your transfer.
